Keke Palmer Delivers New Single "Enemiez," Premieres Video

(Island Records)

Keke Palmer dropped off her latest single this morning, "Enemiez," featuring Jeremih. Palmer begins her new music in 2016 with a catchy, sassy sound that includes the line, “If we’re just friends, I’d rather be your enemy.” She is another example of a teen star that has grown up before the public’s eyes, but with a good ending. “Enemiez” is a step forward in her growth as an artist outside her acting start. Much like Chris Brown’s smooth R&B tone complimented Jordin Spark’s pipes in “No Air,” Jeremih adds a good flow to Palmer’s vocal range in the single.

Kendrick Lamar Drops Surprise Album, "untitled unmastered"

Kendrick Lamar, an extraordinarily innovative rapper who recently won a Grammy for Best Hip-Hop Album, just dropped a surprise album titled untitled unmastered. The vague, plain title in combination with the surprise release leaves a lot to be questioned; pretty sure that's King Kendrick's point. There are eight songs on the album titled "untitled 1-8" with a date following depending on the placement. The songs demonstrate another layer to the rap genuis' quickly growing repertoire - erotic jazz beats and female back-up singers layer futuristic sounds that enhance the rapper's lyrics. Lamar does not fail to add his political statement to the album, as "untitled 03 | 05.28.2013" includes lines such as "What the white man say?" It seems that every second of every song produced by the artist is executed with precision and deliberate care. untitled unmastered is no different; Lamar continues to mold the boundaries of hip-hop and successfully manipulates the trend of jazz-incorporated beats into the album's raps.

Austin Mahone Premieres New Music Video with Sage The Gemini

Austin Mahone released his music video "Put It On Me" featuring rapper Sage the Gemini exclusively on Apple Music. The video is solely in black and white taking place in a skylit room with patterned walls that accentuate the nonexistent color in the video. Mahone dances with a beautiful girl throughout most of the song after he plugs into the recording of "Put It On Me." Sage the Gemini makes a brief appearance for his solo verse and combines with Mahone at the end of the video. Though the rapper is present, the focus is on the vibes between Mahone and his sexy female partner, as they dance on and around each other for most of the scenes. The video definitely shows an attempt at a maturing side of Mahone since he appeared on Taylor Swift's Red Tour a few years back. For the fans, look to see a progression similar to Justin Bieber's growth in the coming years for the young pop star.

On Sunday night, one of the most legendary concerts of the year took place at the Forum in Inglewood, California. Radio station-92.3 followed up November's “The Real 92.3 Show” with another packed lineup, including Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Fetty Wap, DJ Khaled, Omarion, and OT Genasis. As has become typical for 92.3 events, there were plenty of surprise guests, the highlights being Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, YG, and Travis Scott. The energy built the entire night, culminating with an epic set by Nicki Minaj that had the crowd going crazy. 92.3 shows are always exciting, and this event was definitely no exception.

Photos: Future & Ty Dolla Sign Perform at the "Purple Reign Tour" in Boston

Future performing at the "Purple Reign Tour" in Boston on February 26th, 2016 (Benjamin Esakof/Roman's Rap-Up).

Arguably one of the most "in" rappers right now, Future brought his "Purple Reign Tour" to Boston Friday night with special guest Ty Dolla $ign. Last time in Boston a few years back, Future struggled to sell 1,000 tickets. Now with the success of DS2 and Evol, the Epic Records artist sold out the 2,000+ person House of Blues, never mind selling out every other date on the tour. Going through hit after hit with "F*ck Up Some Commas," "March Madness" and more, the "Purple Reign Tour" will go down as one of the most hype shows Boston has ever seen.
