Hailing from South Florida, J Buzzi and his unique sound have been making waves across the nation. Even as a completely independent artist, Buzzi has been catching the ears of thousands upon thousands of listeners. Upon its release, J Buzzi’s debut album Visionary reached iTunes’ “New and Noteworthy” page. His second album, The Only Way Out, was released at the end of this past March. While the sophomore slump is a very common problem that many artists have to take into concern, J Buzzi has nothing to worry about. The Only Way Out has simply continued to push him into the spotlight, catching the ear of plenty music blogs and websites. Surrounded by music since birth, it comes as no surprise that Pope is able to masterfully craft his unique sound with elements that may not typically mesh well together. The first track off of his #jointhefaith EP, “Let’s Be Together," has garnered over 1 million hits on SoundCloud. New Music: "Gone" - Kato Dox

Kato Dox hails from Austin, Texas, and his sound embodies the energetic and powerful style of music that often comes out of the south. His music is unique, and at the same time, Kato Dox wants to make music that his listeners can relate to. He gravitated to the hip-hop scene around the age of twelve, and he hasn’t looked back since then. He is currently a college student studying audio engineering, and he continues to hone his craft as an emcee. His featured song is “Gone,” a track that melds both hip-hop and jazz elements together to create a beautiful template for Kato Dox to flow over.

New Music: "Days Away" - Skaa

After releasing singles periodically over the past two years, Filipino-born rapper Skaa slowly but surely developed a name for himself. This past March, he dropped his debut mixtape Part of the Plan, hoping to capitalize on the buzz he had created. Part of the Plan emulates the sound of J. Cole, one of Skaa’s biggest influences, featuring Skaa flowing very smoothly over laid-back beats. The highlight track of the album is “Days Away.”

New Music: "When I Fell Off" - Timothy Scott

Timothy Scott, a Georgia native who currently is an artist in the New York underground music scene, released the single "When I Fell Off." It is a song that can be added to any going out or getting ready playlist. It's a pump-up song that's fun and easy to listen to. The hip-hop genre that Scott usually leans to resonates with names like Ty Dolla $ign with artistic sound. He has released two mixtapes over the past few years, with his third mixtape "Sincere" premiering this Summer. 

New Music: "Don't Need To" - Janice

Janice, a Swedish artist, just released her single "Don't Need To." It is a R&B/pop song that incorporates the sound styles of some of her inspirations, such as Michael Jackson. Janice explains, "The song is about the struggle between darkness and light within oneself." The 22-year-old has a low vocal register that creates a beautiful sound unique from the bubblegum pop on the radio. Her debut EP will be released this fall.

New Music: "Go Against The Grain" - Black Lion

Black Lion, including artists Rel "Rich" Lindo and Heny "JR" Lindo, is a collective of music talent that mixes R&B/soul with reggae beats demonstrated through their song "Go Against the Grain" featuring Zellust & Dukez. The rap sound of the song compliments a heavy back beat but contrasts female chanting that fills out the space of the sound. It's a song whose beat creates an enjoyable listen that still carries a hardened shell of hip-hop. The Toronto natives are performing at Canadian Music Week on May 7th. New Music: "Motivation" - Jamesthemormon

"Motivation"'s music video by Jamesthemormon, a Utah rapper who is well known in the state, includes many famous faces like the head coach of BYU football, the tattooed Mormon (Al Fox), and traditional Maori "Haka" dancers. These culturally relevant faces to Utah help raise the video to a wider audience while grounding its roots in his home state. The rap in the song is slow and heavy, filling in the intense vibe of a song whose message is parallel to its title: motivation. His first official album dropped April 17th titled "I'm not a rapper," a paradoxical title for an artist whose sound seems to fall near hip-hop. His social medias are as follows:

liZa (Lee-za), a female R&B artist whose light, melodic tone is demonstrated in "Just Chill," released her next single "Suffocated" also produced by Vincent Basil. It is airy and filled with soothing beats that compliment her beautifully rich R&B tone. Her personal, emotional side surfaced in "Suffocated," as she speaks about being metaphorically suffocated by love derived from personal experience. The Toronto native has grown into songwriting from her love of poetry at a young age and hopes to continue to create genuine narratives through her R&B voice in the industry. New Music: "Just Bounce" - Anton Murphy

Anton Murphy, following his popular remix of the rap "Panda," released his new single "Just Bounce." The London native brings his energy through this music that can be visible in both the remix and "Just Bounce." His inspiration and story behind his music is the "climb of the industry ladder," coming from 'nothing' and making 'something' of himself and his artistic abilities. He infuses his passion for old school R&B with his infusions of his London childhood home in order to create Murphy's sound.

New Music: "SheDGAF" - Broderick Batts

Florida rapper Broderick Batts has returned with his new single "SheDGAF" following his 2015 EP titled 2001 Odyssey. His sound is a mix of R&B smoothness and filthy rap, filled with the typical themes of parties and girls. It is The Weeknd meets Drake; the chill sound of Batts is displayed in "SheDGAF," as the single creates the perfect vibe for a put-your-feet-up-and-blaze night. Batts is part of the record label TEN Music Group whose history of blending genres will serve well to the R&B/hip-hop style that Batts is akin to.
